Peter Ucko passed away

Peter Ucko died in London on 14 June 2007.

He was the driving force behind the founding of the World Archaeological Congress. More recently, he was Executive Director of the Institute of Archaeology at University College London and had only recently retired.

Peter Ucko cannot be replaced, but he will be remembered, writes Claire Smith.

A funeral service for Peter Ucko will take place in London at 12pm on 26 June, at St Michael’s Church, South Grove, Highgate, followed by burial in Highgate cemetery. Full details here.
