BBC News reports on the on-going rescue excavations at the site of Yenikapi in Istanbul. The excavations, on the European side of Boshporus, have so far revealed a Byzantine harbour, including the remains of 8 boats. They promise many more exciting finds and knowledge about the topography of early Constantinople. More photos can be found on the Marmaray Project’s homepage.
